Ruth Lee Embry, age 97, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (April 30, 2020) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Leitchfield.

She was born on January 30, 1923 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Rosa Woosley Lee.

She was a business lady, who owned and operated a day-care facility and owned several rental properties. She enjoyed raising her chickens and loved flowers. She was a strong member of the Republican Party.  Ruth was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Ken Embry (Eileen) of Bowling Green, Linda Dinell (Tom) of South Gate, KY, Mayor Rick Embry (Joyce) and Dwight Embry (Tammy) all of Leitchfield; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vernita Ingram of Morgantown and Imogene Porter of Leitchfield.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Embry, her son, Mark Embry, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be private with burial to follow.
