HAYES, RUTH PAGE - 86, of Leitchfield passed away at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, Leitchfield, on July 9, 2012.

She was born August 27, 1925 in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Wallace Page and Cora Dodson Page. She worked in the bookkeeping department of the D.G. Hayes Wholesale Grocery and Leitchfield Truck Equipment. She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church, Grayson County Historical Society, and Leitchfield Woman's Club. She also served as a trustee on the Grayson County Library Board. She was a member of the colonial Dames of America and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leslie Ann Guffey in 1981.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, David Lee Hayes; her twin sister, Ruby Sprinkle, Tucson, Az.

Other survivors include one son, David Wallace Hayes, Hardinsburg; one daughter, Brenda (Bill) Guffey, Columbus, Ind.; two granddaughters, Dana (Paul ) Ramage, Bloomington, Ind.; Denise (Danny) Axsom, North Vernon, Ind.; three great grandchildren, Katherine Ramage, Paige Axsom and Whitney Axsom.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home, 306 W. Main St., Leitchfield, Wednesday, July 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. (CDT) and up to the time of the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clearview Baptist Church building fund, 505 W. White Oak St., Leitchfield, KY 42754 and/or the Grayson County Historical Society, P. O. Box 84, Leitchfield, KY 42755.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. (CDT) at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Red Hill Cemetery, Hodgenville, Ky.
