Obituary
Ruvine Hayse Ramsey, age 93, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (September 24, 2017) at her home in Leitchfield.
She was born on February 26, 1924 in Spring Lick, KY, the daughter of the late John Richard and Mattie Bell Boone Hayse.
She was a restaurant owner, a homemaker, and a great cook who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mattie Christine Thomas of McHenry, KY, and Wanda Holland (Jack) of Leitchfield; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William "Bill" Ramsey, a daughter, Nancy Watson; a son, James Payton Sr.; a son-in-law, Jim Thomas; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (September 26, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
