Sarah Elizabeth Bishop, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (October 2, 2010) at her residence.

She was born on March 5, 1922, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late William Clayton and Mary Ivy Sims Dawson. She was a retired machine operator in the sewing factory industry, and was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, James Bishop (Daisy) of Morgantown, G.E. Bishop (Martha) of Louisville; one daughter, Lillian Bishop Semones (Ted) of Louisville; two brothers, Clarence E. Dawson of Shepherdsville, Tom Dawson of Louisville; one sister, Hallie Brooks of Louisville; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James William Bishop, Sr.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (October 6, 2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rev. Brian Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
