Shannon Lee Hockenbury, age 42, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (February 28, 2023) at his home.

He was born on September 18, 1980 in Louisville, KY, the son of Garry Hockenbury and Delta Langley Hockenbury.

He was a trader who liked to buy and sell different items. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially coon hunting, raising his chickens, all animals, and his dog. He loved the outdoors. He belonged to the Coon Hunter's Club and had attended Unity Pentecostal Apostolic Church.

He is survived by his parents, Delta Langley of Bowling Green and Garry Hockenbury of Big Clifty; his children, Dakota Smallwood and Kayley Hockenbury; brother, Garry "Patches" Hockenbury (Danielle); sister, Kristina Meredith (Jason); Shannon's wife, Jade Mercer Hockenberry of Leitchfield; maternal grandparents, Delmer and Leda Williams; of Leitchfield; nieces and nephews, Ciara Higdon (Cody), Hunter Meredith, Ariel Meredith, Lindsey Hockenbury, Bailey Lee, Jason Lee, and Katlyn Lee.

He was preceded in death by Tanya Marie Smallwood, the mother of his children, Dakota Smallwood and Kayley Hockenbury; daughter, Sarah Hockenbury; and his paternal grandparents, Tom and Edwina Clark.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, (March 6, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Laslie will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
