Sharon Gale Cannon, age 62, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (January 7, 2018) at her home. She was born in Leitchfield on January 02, 1956, the daughter of the late Carl and Bernice Sanders Newton of Sadler, KY. Sharon was saved at Sadler Church at the age of eleven, and was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She worked various jobs throughout her lifetime, and was a homemaker at the time of her death.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth E. Cannon; a daughter Devon M. Hall (Jason) of Leitchfield; a son Wesley Cannon (Jonelle) of Falls of Rough; a brother Scottie W. Newton (Theresa) of Leitchfield; and a sister Karen L. Downs (Brian) of Caneyville. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Shane and Laney Hall, and Heidi Cannon, several brother and sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Some of Sharon's greatest joys in life were her family, church, neighbors, and the abundant host of friends she met through the years. She had many friends because she showed herself friendly to everyone.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (January 12, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mike Cannon and Bro. Matt Milam will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrim Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
