Sheila Ann Hayes, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 3, 2023) at her home.

She was born on December 21, 1957 in Henderson, KY, the daughter of the late James Otis and Georgie Frieels Brooks.

She was a hard worker from the sawmills to the factory, OFS Furniture Manufacturers, from which she retired. She loved to fish, planting flowers, gardening and playing Candy Crush. She especially loved her dogs, Stacy and Zeb. She loved her husband and caretaker of 37 years, Bobby Hayes, Sr and attended Southside Christian Church in Canyville, KY.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Hayes, Sr. of Leitchfield; a step-son, Bobby Ray Hayes (Skye); a step-daughter, Margaret Brooks (Charlie); Five grandchildren, Deanna Dugan-Haycraft (Nick) of Big Clifty, KY, Bradley, Teika and Quenten Dugan, all of Caneyville, & Alyssa Haws of Waterloo, NY; 12 step-grandchildren, Lane (Addie), Ruth, Taylor (Ryan), Jodi Sue, Nova Leigh, Joseph, Graysea (Ryan), Haskell, Zoey (JD), Adrian, Max, Jennifer (Brian) & Tanner; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer Haycraft, Kayleigh, Ellysn & Ryan Dugan; three god-children, Jamie & Laura Renfrow of Caneyville and Jesse Lewis Renfrow (Kevin) of Acworth, Georgia; a brother, Donald Brooks of Indiana; two sisters, Debbie Nelson and Janice Turner, both of Henderson, KY; . Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Fentress and a brother, James "Jimmy" Otis Brooks Jr., and her beloved dogs, Little Bit and Chupey.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, (December 12, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Laura Renfrow Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
