Shelby Eugene Blessitt, age 76, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Sunday (January 21, 2007) at his residence
He was born on July 12, 1930. in Grayson Co., KY, the son of Earl and Ruby Miller Blessitt.
He was retired from maintenance at Brown-Foreman Distillery.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Blessitt and Linda Tindall both of Louisville, two sons, Anthony and Jerry Blessitt both of Louisville, two sisters, Helen Christine Akins of Louisville and Shelia Mattingly of Clarkson, one brother, Bernard Blessitt of Leitchfield, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Renfrow Blessitt, a son, Michael Blessitt, a brother, Murrell Blessitt and a sister, Imogene Smallwood.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday (January 24, 2007) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bros. Bernard and Scott Blessitt will be officiating. Burial is in the New Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
