Shelby Hazelwood, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (January 29, 2019) at Twins Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on May 05, 1939 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Jess and Nellie Dehart Hazelwood.

He was retired from Leggett and Platt, where he worked as a line worker for 28 years. He enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.

He is survived by his son, Carlos Ray Hazelwood and his wife, Lori; two sisters, Henrietta Poteet of Leitchfield and Lucille Hill of Louisville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie King Hazelwood and two brothers, Cecil and Jess Hazelwood, Jr.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (February 01, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Friday, until time of services.
