Sherry Elaine Akers, age 61, of Big Clifty, KY, passed away Friday, (January 22, 2021) at Baptist Health Hardin County in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on July 04, 1959 in, Hardin County, KY, the daughter of the late Henry "Duke" Goodman and Doris Peters Goodman Petty.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed mowing the yard and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Jeff Akers of Big Clifty; two daughters, Jennifer Peters of Big Clifty and Tonya Hart of Leitchfield; a son, Seth Hack of Big Clifty; seven grandchildren, Jordan & Hannah Mercer, Cameron Higdon, Kenadie Hart, Kyle Richardson, and Dylan & Madison Peters; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ricky and Stevie Goodman of Hardin County; and a sister, Joyce Goodman of Breckinridge County. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Gregory.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (January 26, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with Final Expenses.
