Shirley Jean Lowe, age 68, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 18, 2013) at Springview Health and Rehab in Leitchfield KY.

She was born on March 30, 1945 in Jeffersonville, IN, the daughter of the late Robert and Naomi Hester Wade.

She was a housewife, who enjoyed decorating cakes. She was 25 year volunteer for the Hardin County School System and was a member of the Pond Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, James Jr (Cindy) of Brooks, KY, Jeff (Stephanie) of Mt. Washington KY, and Jared Lowe (Jessica) of Clarkson, KY, one daughter, Shelli Green (Dirk) of Spencer County, KY, four grandchildren, Kalynn Gaynor (Phillip), Kaleb Green, Payton and Slaton Lowe, three step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Ryder and Ried Gaynor, three brothers, Danny, and Gary Wade of Jefferson Co. KY and Dale Wade of Leitchfield, one sister, Linda Mertz of Jefferson Co. KY and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lowe Sr., a granddaughter, Kendra Lowe and a sister, Wanda Lee Wade.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Sunday, (September 22, 2013) at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church. Bro. Jeff Burden will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
