Silas A. Huffman, age 73, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (February 07, 2019) at his home.

He was born on September 6, 1945 in Peonia, KY, the son of the late John and Sylvie Logsdon Huffman.

He worked for the Leitchfield Utilities for 29 years and once served as a member of the Leitchfield Fire Department who enjoyed farming, riding four wheelers, visiting with his neighbors, spending time with friends and family, working with his horses and mules, and hosting his annual pig roast.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Green Huffman of Leitchfield; his son, Jurl Huffman (Dian) of Clarkson, KY; a grandson, Ty Huffman of Clarkson; a brother, Duard Huffman; and two sisters, Loretta Huffman and Ethel Decker (Grover) all of Clarkson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Odell VanMeter and Louise Huffman; and three brothers, Clevie, Cobert, and Tommy Huffman.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (February 12, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
