Stella "Ruby" Young, age 87 passed away Sunday, (July 31, 2022) at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on February 09, 1935 in Onslow County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Ernest and Pennie Jones Rochelle.

She was a homemaker and a housewife who enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and going on a good road trip. She was a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her five children, Debbie Glasscock (Terry), Freida Alexander (Perry) both of Leitchfield, Jimmy Young (Dawn) and Donnie Young (Ronda) both of Raleigh, NC and Sharon Messick (Jim) of Perkiomenville, PA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette Parker of Folkstone, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James E. Young; three sisters and three brothers.

A private service will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Fred Whitmore will be officiating. Burial will follow in Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
