Stephen Lee Payton, age 55 , of Caneyville, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 29, 2022) at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on June 04, 1966 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Leland and Evellein Parks Payton.

He was a truck driver for Majors Transit who enjoyed watching sports (particularly March Madness), horse racing, trail-riding, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Shae Neighbors (Travis) of Horse Branch, KY; two grandchildren, Kason & Ember Neighbors; a brother, Scott Payton (Nina) of Caneyville. A niece, Leslie Payton and a nephew, Grayson Payton also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (April 4, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Keith Shephard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Open casket visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the Dermitt Funeral Home with closed casket visitation following until time of services.
