Stephen Dale Taylor, Sr., age 67 , of Mansfield, Texas, passed away Thursday, (December 29, 2022) in Texas.

He was born on August 28, 1955 in Louisville, KY.

He worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after serving over 30 years.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing pinochle with family, loved animals, and was a fan of anything involving sports. This especially held true as he was a life-long Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan. He graduated from Dupont Manual High School where he was a star running back on the football team known for his explosive speed and power.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson, and his granddaughter, Makenna Johnson; his son, Stephen D. Taylor, Jr.; and his brother, Phillip Taylor, Sr. Also dear to him was an aunt, Evelyn Sweeney and her sons, Darrell, Rick, and Gregory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tylene Woosley and his cousin, Timothy Sweeney.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, (January 7, 2023) at the Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas.

Burial will be in the Rabbit Flat Cemetery on Saturday (January 14, 2023) in Caneyville, KY. at 11:00 a.m. with Dermitt Funeral home in charge of the final burial arrangements.

Visitation will be at the Moore Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (January 7, 2023).
