Tamara “Tammy” Kay Sewell, age 47, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 15, 2026) at the U of L Hospital in Louisville.
Tammy was born on July 20, 1979, in Breckinridge County, KY, the daughter of the late Randall and Cheryl Howard Sosh.
She worked as a dialysis technician at Devita Leitchfield Dialysis, and at Fresenius Kidney Care Center in Elizabethtown. Tammy dedicated her life to the well-being of her family. She was a loving caregiver to others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, having cookouts and family outings, where she loved to cook for everyone. She loved to listen to Christian music and was an avid shopper for every kitchen gadget she could find. She married Jeromy Sewell on May 3, 2013. Tammy attended First Church of God in Custer as a young girl.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeromy Sewell; daughter, Haylee Wilson (Cody); step-children, Anna Cook, Damien Sewell (Kayla), and Gabriel Sewell; her grandchildren, Annalicia, Keith, Celese, Brayden, Raina, Emma Tamara Kay, and Tamaron; brothers, Doug Sosh (Loretta) and Joey Sosh (Magan); nieces and nephews, Jordan Sosh (Katlyn) Jessica Braxton (Darren), Braxton Sosh, Khloe Sosh, Emerie Sosh and Konnor Sosh; and great-nephew, Bentley Hathway.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruby and Herbert Sosh and Delmer and Hazel Howard; and aunt, Barbara Hack.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, (September 24, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Joseph Sosh will be officiating. Burial will be in the Custer Cemetery in Breckinridge County.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
