Thera F. King, age 95, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (November 28, 2015) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born on January 30, 1920 in Breckinridge Co., KY, the daughter of the late Lovel Sr. and Alma Denham King.
With B.A. and M.A. degrees from Western Kentucky University and 23 years of teaching experience, she retired from Ben Johnson Elementary School. As a member of the McDaniels Antioch United Methodist Church, she served as church secretary/treasurer for 42 years. She was also a member of Grayson County Retired Teachers Association and Harmon Homemakers Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Bobbie Gail Pullen and her husband Terry of Georgetown, KY; two sons, Jim King and his wife Brenda of Hopkinsville, KY and Tony King and his wife Sue of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; a brother, Lovel Parish King of Hardinsburg, KY; and a sister Fern Elizabeth King West of Port Charlotte, FL.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Robert "Bob" King, four brothers: Audie Leo, William Stoie, Charles Bobby and Teddy Madison King; a sister, Alma Ruth King Williams; and a grandson, James Michael King.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (December 2, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. David Harting will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
