Obituary
Thomas R. Abell, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (April 16, 2008) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on January 13, 1931, in Hardin County KY, the son of Richard Lee and Annie Elizabeth Morrison Abell. He was a former school teacher and was a retired postmaster at Leitchfield Post Office, a US Navy veteran, a past member of the American Legion and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Glenn Abell, his sons, Clifton and Thomas G (Jennifer) Abell both of Leitchfield, his daughters, Karen Walker (Allan) of Bowling Green, KY and Lori Riggs (Marty) of Upton, KY, a brother, Francis Abell of Hodgenville, KY, a sister, Alma Nelson of New Jersey, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Nancy Watkins, George and Joe Abell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (April 20, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jerry Netherland will be officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
