Thomas Albert Coulson, age 78, passed away Wednesday, (November 9, 2016) surrounded by his family in Hodgenville, KY.
He was born on April 30, 1938, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late William Henry and Merle Herron Coulson.
Mr. Coulson was a veteran of the U.S. Army, former employee of General Telephone, and AT&T, and was a retired golf professional. He also enjoyed being a Ham radio operator and received a plaque covering all counties of the United States. His favorite hobby was golfing, which he loved since a small child by following his brothers and cousins all over a golf course. His dream job was being able to work at the Masters Golf Course for several years. He also loved his West Virginia Mountaineers and always wore his blue and gold every chance he got. He was a member of Lincoln Trail Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Zeccardi Coulson of Hodgenville; one son, James Robert (Bob) Coulson (Susanne) of Monongah, WV; two daughters, Tamara Sue Campbell (Gary) of Elizabethtown, KY, Jodi Lynn Vincent of Hodgenville, KY; brother, James Robert (Bob) Coulson, of Morgantown, WV; several brothers and sisters-in law in Augusta, GA, and Morgantown, WV; seven grandchildren, Rebekah Leigh Skaggs of Clarkson, KY, Zachary Keith Skaggs of Leitchfield, KY, Hannah Elizabeth Vincent of Nashville, TN, Seth Carlton Bratcher (Sierra) of Chalybeate, KY, Afton Rose Coulson, William Thomas Coulson and Wesley Robert Coulson, all of Monongah, WV; and countless nieces and nephews scattered over the United States.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Belle Hagedorn and brothers, William Henry and John Lidgett Coulson, Clarence Jacob and Norman P. Squires, and sisters, Elvira Olive Dorn and Rosa Alice Mains.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. (CST) Friday, (November 11, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Rev. Jeff Davis will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. (noon) (CST) on Thursday until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:00 a.m.
until service time at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
