Thornton E. (Budgie) Johnson, age 86, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Sunday (July 26, 2009) in Bowling Green, Ky.

He was born on November 23, 1922 in Echols, Ky., the son of Cecil & Esther Embry Johnson. He attended the Caneyville Church of Christ, a World War 11 US Army veteran, and a member of the Murrow Maurras

He is survived by his wife Florene Payton Johnson of Caneyville, 1 sister Norma Jean Swift (Amos) of Welchs Creek, 1 nephew Lloyd Swift of Morgantown, 3 nieces Linda Sue Weldon of Harned, Rita Lowry of Fulton, Ky. & Lisa Swift of Welchs Creek.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother Giffrey Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1:00 P.M. July 29, 2009 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. Dale Barnes & Bro. Mike Hornback officiating with interment in the Dan Woosley Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 5:00 P.M. CDT till 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday
