Timothy Miller, age 79 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (November 4, 2022) in Louisville, KY.
He was born on December 7, 1942 in Carbondale, Illinois, the son of the late Albert and June Fligor Miller.
He was a professor of mathematics at Western Kentucky University and was a member of NRA, Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited and Southern KY Model Aero Club. He was a Ham Radio Operator and a member of the Kentucky Colonels Radio Club. Most of all he loved his family, especially doing things outdoors with his grandchildren. While living in Illinois he farmed and raised quail, pheasant and chuckers. He loved his bird dogs and once raised black lab retrievers and English bird dogs. He sold insurance for Country Companies in Illinois. Since moving to Leitchfield and living on Nolin Lake, he enjoyed fishing. He was a Deacon and member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana Blackford Miller; children, Samuel Miller (Barbie) of Bowling Green, KY and David Miller (Jessica) of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Blake, Hayden, Aryn, and Jackson Miller; and his brother-in-law, William Blackford (Mary) of Washington, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (November 13, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Pastor Doug King will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday (November 12) and from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until time of services.
