Tom Gaither, age 53, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 3, 2010) his residence.

He was born on April 18, 1956, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of Jess and Rose Lashley Gaither. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Farris Gaither, three daughters, Chrystal Dennis (Scottie) of Leitchfield, Stefanie Gaither of Blue Lick, KY and Tara Riley of Caneyville, two grandchildren, Alex and Tyler Dennis, five brothers, Bobby, Dan, Rick, Freddie and Mark Gaither all of Leitchfield, four sisters, Zella Sandlin of East View, KY, Wilma Johnson, Linda Decker and Nellie Hardin all of Leitchfield. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, James Robert, Sammie and Pete Gaither and Catherine Stinnett.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. (February 5, 2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Gary Woosley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Short Creek Missionary Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of service.
