Tony Edward Holbert, age 64, of Anneta, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 5, 2013) at his residence.
He was born on January 23, 1949, in New Haven, KY, the son of the late Edward G. and Barbara Wanger Holbert.
He was a former truck driver, who enjoyed restoring and working on cars. He liked to draw, and enjoyed making crafts made with matchsticks. He was a Viet Nam War veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Strickland Holbert; one daughter, Jessica Sprik; two sons, Josh Canterbury, and Frankie R. Fitzpatrick-Holbert; two step-sons, Phillip and Robert Perry; three sisters, Geneva Holbert, Heidi Waters, and Sharon Liggett; one brother, Frank Merrifield; four grandchildren, Jay, Isaac, and Colten Sprik, and Brianna Fitzpatrick-Holbert; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen, and one brother, Johnny.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 8, 2013) at the McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, with services following at the church.
