Vasta Elaine Tarrence, age 86 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (November 12, 2019) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on August 30, 1933 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Guy and Fronia Stevenson Kerr.

She was a housewife who enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Nelson (Vanessa), Steve Nelson, all of Leitchfield and Kenny Nelson (Toni Kay) of Brownsville; daughter, Tammy Decker (Kendall) of Leitchfield; step-sons, Danny Tarrence (Sharon) of Clarkson, and Rocky Tarrence (Elaine) of Louisville; step-daughters, Pam Sanders (Mark) and Debbie Bratcher all of Caneyville; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; one brother, Milo Kerr (Betty) of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Archie Nelson; second husband, Chester Tarrence; three sisters, Maxine Poteet, Edna Saltsman and Winnie Daniels; and one brother, Vernon Kerr.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (November 17, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Landis Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
