Velena Logsdon, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 10, 2013) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on December 18, 1923 in Hart County, KY, the daughter of the late Glen and Greedie Taylor Butler.

She was a homemaker and a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, William Logsdon of Leitchfield, Winford Logsdon of Caneyville, Betty Milam of Falls of Rough, Larry Logsdon of Caneyville, Carol Russell of Plant City, Florida, Charles Edward Logsdon of Caneyville, Robert Logsdon of Clarkson, Ronella Sanders and Anedra Foreman of Leitchfield, Donnie Logsdon of Elizabethtown, Thersa McGrew of Chicago, IL and Anita Schorerlucke of Leitchfield, , 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a brother, James Butler of Upton and a sister, Deloris McTarsney of Columbus, IN .

In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Logsdon, 2 sons, Theodore and Cleon Logsdon, 2 daughters Myrtle Dunn and Ethel Sandage , 2 granddaughters, Margie Dunn and Rachel Woolen and a great grandson, Garrett Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, (October 13, 2013) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Anthony Pierce and Bro. William Logsdon officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until service time.
