Obituary
Velvy Ree (Barton) Stone, age 88, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 24, 2010) at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville KY.
She was born on December 26, 1921, in Grayson Co., the daughter of James and Nancy Jane (Payton) Barton. She was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of Freezion Baptist Church, and also attended the Caneyville Holiness Church. She is survived by her one sister, Gertrude Shartzer of Louisville, one son John ( Loretta) Stone, four daughters, Barbara Coats, Betty (Maxie) Park, Alice Manco all of Caneyville, Bertha Webb of Leitchfield, thirteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years, Hayward, one son Arnold, and one daughter, Margaret Stone.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (April 27,2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. George Langdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrady Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
