Verildean Hayse, age 81, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (January 30, 2015) at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on December 12, 1933 in Clarkson, KY, the son of the late Rex Hayse and Olive VanMeter Hayse.

He was a truck driver for a bread company. He enjoyed playing music, especially his guitar, singing in a band, and playing music for square dances. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his son, Rex Leroy Hayse of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Tammy Lee Darveau of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Fayetta Barton (JR) of Caneyville; two grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, Rex Hayse and Olive Hayse Stanley, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Merlin Hayse.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (February 3, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Cannon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
