Obituary
.Vicky Joyce Nelson, age 63, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (February 10, 2017) at the Norton Inpatient Care Unit in Louisville, KY.
She was born on December 11, 1953, in South Bend, IN, the daughter of the late Joe B. and Billie Joyce Preston Whaley.
She was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed gardening, making crafts, fishing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Bethel Fellowship.
She is survived by her sons, John Nelson of Leitchfield, and Jason Nelson (Julie) of Clarkson; daughter, Tracy VanMeter (James) of Caneyville; sister, Lisa Woosley (Jeff) of Maryland, brothers, Ronnie Whaley (Barbara) and Ricky Whaley all of Louisville; grandchildren, James and Matthew VanMeter, John Paul, Ryan, Ian, and Joey Nelson, Halie Profitt, Mason and Laci Nelson, Christian Neff, and Marisa Hay; and her great-grandchildren, Chloe VanMeter, Dyson McClure, and Tanner Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family Graveside Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (February 12, 2017) at the Layman Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Embry officiated.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday (March 18, 2017) at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Fellowship. Bro. Ron Miller will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dermitt Funeral Home.
