Viola King, age 74, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (August 30, 2022) at Springview Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on August 30, 1948 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late James Henry and Ola Hart Dean.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed walking outside in pretty weather. Viola lived a simple life filled with a great sense of wonder. She was a joyful person and loved laughter. She was a very kind-hearted individual and had lots of patience. She loved the Lord and was a member of the New Freedom Church.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Armstrong of Leitchfield; two grandchildren, Lauran Cooper and Brittany Coleman; four grandchildren, Jayden and Davinie Cooper, Asher Coleman, Sawyer Snyder; and four nieces, Sandra Kay, Debbie, Melissa Ray and Susan Becky. Jeff would like to thank the nurses and staff at Springview Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care and love they provided for Viola.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,

James Henry Alvin King; son, James "Henry" King; three brothers,

Herman, Willie and Ray Dean; and two sisters, Vonnie and stillborn,

Rose Eveline.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 4, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Jeff Armstrong, her son, will be officiating.  Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. on Sunday until time of service.
