Virginia Mae "Jenny" Blanton, 88, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2026, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on December 4, 1937, in Sonora, Kentucky, the daughter of late Henry Downs and Birdie Williams Downs.

Jenny was a cherished resident of Anneta, Kentucky. Jenny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around her home and family. Her warmth, kind heart, and gentle spirit created a welcoming home where memories were cherished and love was always shared.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Pat Blanton; her five surviving children, Larry Blanton (Connie), Mary Cooper (Ryan), Arlen Blanton (Reva), Joyce Downs (Ricky), and Brenda Bryerton (John); along with 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Danny Lynn Blanton; her beloved grandson, Adam Blanton; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; and her half-brothers and half-sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 22, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Kenny Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
