Obituary
Walter James Overton, age 60, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, at his residence. He was born November 22, 1947, in Grayson Co. KY, the son of Virgil Denton and Dorothy (Nugent) Overton.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, of thirty four years, Helen Jane (Woosley) Overton, three daughters, Sherri Overton of Kenton, Ohio, Sibbie Overton of Clarkson, KY and Megan Overton of Leitchfield, KY, two sons, Johnathon Overton and Lawton Mudd of Caneyville, six sisters, Dottie Skinner of Bowling Green, KY, Patsy Cole of Fl, Loretta Newton of Clarkson, Lois Decker of Leitchfield, Billy Jones of Indianapolis Ind. and Thelma Saltsman of Leitchfield, four brothers, Claude Overton of Falls of Rough, KY, Kelly Overton of Clarkson, Jerry and Eddie Overton both of Leitchfield, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Susie Mudd and grandson, Zechariah Mathew Poole.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 08, 2008 at 2:00 p .m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, with Bro. Joe Watson officiating with interment in the Wilson Home Cemetery.
Friends may call at Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, KY 12:00 -9:00 p.m. Monday, after 9:00 until funeral time on Tuesday.
