Wanda Sue Hanson, age 80 , of Okolona, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 4, 2023) at Norton Audubon Hospital.

She was born on August 21, 1942 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Coleman Thomas Poole and Nancy Elizabeth Casey Poole.

She retired from NPC Processing as a computer operator. She loved to draw and sketch. She was a very crafty person, who also learned to do macramé. She had also worked as a driving instructor in Louisville. She loved animals, especially her dog and cat. She was very active in her church. She attended Highview Baptist Church in Louisville.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Phelps; niece, Rhonda Hatfield and nephew, Danny Hicks; great-niece, Leann Phelps; and sister-in-law, Mary Hanson.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Lewis Hanson and her son, Darrell Thomas Hanson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CST Tuesday, (May 9, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
