Warren Edward Payton, age 86 , of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (April 29, 2022) at his residence in Caneyville, KY.

He was born on January 22, 1936 in Yeaman, KY, the son of the late Elvie and Mable Isabelle Payton.

He worked at Porter Paints for 20 years as head of quality control in their lab. He enjoyed riding horses and trading horses, bird hunting and trading dogs, other game hunting and fishing. He married his wife, Martha Huff Payton on May 19, 1956. He was a member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1982.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Payton of Caneyville; children, Warren Daniel Payton  (LaRanda) of Caneyville, Karen Payton (Morris Crawford) of Caneyville, Marcia Hawkins (Robert) of Scottsville and Marty Hawkins (Christopher) of Caneyville; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Carol Sue Beld and Ruby Vickery; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Payton Jones.

Graveside services will be private. Bro. Brad Whittemore will officiate the service.
