Obituary
Willard Lee Smoot, age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (September 18, 2016) at his residence.
He was born on August 22, 1938 in Breckinridge County KY, the son of the late Ray Sr. and Essie Lucas Smoot.
He was a machine operator for Adkins in Louisville, and then later retired from Phar Shar Manufacturing in Leitchfield. He enjoyed working on cars, lawn work, and trimming trees.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Dennis Smoot of Leitchfield; three daughters, Cindy Hogan (Buddy) of Shrewsbury, Debbie Haycraft (Terry), and Jennifer Smoot all of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Nicholas Haycraft (Deanna), Leslie Cubbage (Walter), and Maddy Finley; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Cubbage, Sawyer Haycraft, and Logan Cubbage; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Smoot, Jr., and Gene Smoot, and one sister, Christine Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (September 20, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Sis. Janet Flood and Bro. Tim Whitworth will be officiating. Burial will be in the Eveleigh Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
