William “Bill” Wortham, age 72, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, (June 2, 2026) at Owensboro Health in Owensboro, KY.

He was born on September 29, 1953, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Charles William Wortham and Emma Mae Anderson Wortham.

He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Leitchfield. He enjoyed diesel mechanic work on heavy machinery. He loved spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him Pappy.

He is survived by his sister, Emma Louise Wortham of Portland, TN; daughters, Alicia Harrell (Keith) and Sami Jo Strickland of Leitchfield; and his grandchildren, Bradley, Cooper and Chase Harrell.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Evan Wortham.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, (June 8, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. In keeping with his wishes cremation will follow the service.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Monday until time of services.
