William Steven “Steve” Richards, age 60, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (September 21, 2026) at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY surrounded by his friends and family.

He was born on November 14, 1965, in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Charles Edward Sr. and Doris Jean Still Richards.

He was a son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a friend and a papaw. However, that doesn’t even scratch the surface of everything that made up “Steve.” He was a pilgrim attaining the highest degree in moose fraternity, a member of the Grayson County Moose 2453, West KY Moose Legion 56. Paducah Moose lodge, American Legion Post 81, and Bullitt County Rod & Gun Club. Steve enjoyed travelling to several churches and various community events singing with his family. He was also a member of the Beech Grove United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tina Embry Richards; a daughter, Mary Kate Elmore (Anthony); four grandchildren, Winnie, Rylee, Jacob and Bowie Elmore; one sister, Debbie Williams (Bro.Cecil); three brothers, Charles Richards Jr. (Carolyn), Tommy Richards (Elizabeth) and Mike Richards (Renee); one brother-in-law, Mike Ramsey; one sister-in-law, Sheena Embry (Robert) and his mother-in-law Laura Embry. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Darlene Richards, Patty Ramsey and Charlene Richards; and his father-in-law, Archie Embry.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (September 29, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. William Dodson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. A Loyal Order of the Moose Pilgrim Ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday (September 28, 2026).
