Obituary

Wilmert Pharis, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 18, 2009) in Leitchfield.

He was born on September 15, 1920, in Mc Lean IL, the son of Oda and Elberta Taylor Pharis. He served six months in the CCC Camp, learning his trade and retired as a Residential contractor, a World War II Navy Veteran, was a forty-five year member of the Union General Baptist Church and was a member of the Caneyville Masonic Lodge # 635 for over fifty years.

He is survived by his wife, Marglean Embry Pharis of Leitchfield, one son, Billy Eugene Pharis of Leesburg, FL, one daughter, Carolyn Diane Raymer (Shannon) of Caneyville, KY, three sisters, Imogene Byers of Shepherdsville, KY, Virginia Finley of Welchs Creek, KY and Ruthia Ingram of Louisville, three brothers, Carl of Welchs Creek, Carmon of Brooksfield, KY and Uda Pharis of Leitchfield, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Harold Dean Pharis, a grandchild Darren Ray, a pre-mature grandchild, and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. (July 20, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bros. Earl Bunch and Dewey Baker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.

There will be a Masonic service on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. by the Caneyville Masonic Lodge.
