Wilbur Winston Davis, age 76, of Brownsville, KY, passed away Sunday, (May 26, 2019) surrounded by his family at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on May 19, 1943 in Sunny Point, KY, the son of the late Wilbur and Vena Bratcher Davis.
He founded, owned and operated the Farmer's Feed Mill Restaurant for 20 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing with his great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of the Sunny Point General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Alexander Davis, of Brownsville; his daughter, Jill Blankenship (Marion) of Brownsville; a grandson, Kyle Blankenship (Tyra) of Leitchfield; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kartyr, Noah, Joslyn and Ruby; three sisters, Eurita Ellis of North Carolina, Jenell VanMeter (KayeDon) and Joyce Meredith (Mike) both of Bee Springs, KY; and a sister-in-law, Michelle Davis of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Martin Lee and Darren Davis; two brothers, Charles and Dwight Davis; and two sisters, Norma Taylor and Retha Taylor.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (May 29, 2019) at the Sunny Point General Baptist Church in Edmonson County, KY. Bro. Gary Embry and Bro. Jerry Dunaway will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Point Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until 12:15 p.m., at which time services will move to Sunny Point General Baptist Church.
