Zethie Woosley Dixon, 98, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday (July 4, 2016) at Signature Healthcare of Hartford in Hartford, KY.
She was born on February 4, 1918 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Thurman and Julia Woosley.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and a textile artist using different mediums-sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was a wife and mother, known as Granny, Grammy Dixon, Nana, and MeMaw. The previous 89 years she lived at Caneyville where she was born. Her husband John remodeled their home through their 50 plus years of marriage. Zethie accepted Christ and was baptized at Caneyville Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Sutton. Years later the family moved their membership to New Harvest Baptist Church where she attended until she went into the nursing facility at Hartford. She spent the last nine years at Signature Health where the nurses and staff became her family and she ministered to others by giving plastic crosses with scriptures about Christ.
Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a special granddaughter Tiffany Taylor Pullen.
She is survived by her daughter, Millie Dixon and Coco, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ginny Last, Norman Caudill (Lois), Charles Caudill (Janet) and many nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, special grandchildren and friends who became family.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, (July 9, 2016) at New Harvest Church in Caneyville. Bro.Arland Benningfield will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the New Harvest Church from 12:00 p.m. Saturday until time of services.
